Beheaded, Continued

so the skull in knoepfle's poem
is the father and the son
but it is also the ghost of myself
and cannot walk away
it only creates specious solutions

the priestess married her disappearance
I do not sleep well
I do not trust my solutions
I am an anagram of the nation this way

The poem referred to is Harpe's Head and it is also An Affair of Culture. There was a time whe I was quite conversant in Knoepfle's canon. But I haven't looked at these pieces in twenty five years. Since his utter betrayal. The priestess is, as always, Alison Clare Gaughan. And the time is just after the watergate scandal and the references to the nation are heartfelt. There was a terrible uncertainty after Nixon.
